About Weigela

Weigela (why-GEE-luh) is a genus of a number of flowering deciduous shrubs. They’re spring bloomers, though some cultivars will rebloom later in the summertime. Their tubular flowers are fairly engaging to bees, butterflies, and, in fact, hummingbirds.

Most cultivars available on the market at the moment are hybrids, and plant breeders have developed many flower and foliage colours. They’re native to Asia and hardy in USDA Zones 4 to eight or 9. 

Flower shade varies from white to all shades of pink and crimson. Foliage isn’t restricted to inexperienced and could be a main cause so as to add these upright, arching perennials to your panorama. New varieties have pretty leaves in creamy variegations, darker purples and burgundy, and, in fact, inexperienced.
