This video shot by architectural photographer Edmund Sumner reveals the pebbledash-covered rooftop studio that architect Sean Griffiths not too long ago added to the postmodern Blue Home in London.
The extension is designed “within the spirit” of the much-lauded authentic home, which Griffiths designed in 2002 as his own residence alongside FAT companions Charles Holland and Sam Jacob.
Clad in pink-toned pebbledash, the addition incorporates a rooftop studio that opens on a pebble-filled terrace supposed to evoke the seashore at Camber Sands. Its tough texture is designed to be in distinction to the pale blue clapboard-patterned fibre-cement partitions of the unique house.
