I had hassle developing the cinquefoil by hand with a compass and ruler. What I discovered is the radius of the small circles is 1/sixth the span of the arch.
I divided the spring line/span into 6 even sections. I then, from the corners of my span arched as much as create the radii for the circles. I positioned the primary two circles facilities alongside the spring line, and marked the second set of circles facilities alongside the radii from the sting of the primary two circles. From there, the final middle arch may very well be discovered.
The sketch was actually tousled as a result of I had been making an attempt to determine how you can make this, so I apologize for the horrible high quality.
