Rising practically 70 ft, the shed homes 5,000 tons of salt and marks the historic location the place the previous canal enclosing Decrease Manhattan met the Hudson River. The Salt Shed’s stable, crystalline type acts as a counterpoint to the diaphanous, scrim-like façade of the Manhattan 1/2/5 Storage, straight throughout Spring Avenue to the north.
