For the primary time ever, the best accolade within the South Australian Structure Awards has been collectively awarded, with a neighborhood facility and a modest household house sharing the honour.
The Australian Institute of Architects’ South Australian chapter awarded the SA Structure Medal to Evergreen Group Precinct by Walter Brooke and Sunkissed Higgins by RADS.
The jury had been impressed with the interiors of Evergreen Group Precinct, a multi-functional facility in a cemetery that the jury stated “served as testomony to the ability of structure to uplift the human spirit and foster significant connections inside an area of remembrance and celebration.” The undertaking additionally acquired the Jack McConnell Award for Public Structure and an Award for Inside Structure.
